FOR-DO consists of The Turning Point Recovery Community and Outreach Centers, Club Odyssey, and The Oneonta Teen Center. We provide Recovery Support Services to help initiate and/or sustain long-term recovery and prevent re-occurrence by building recovery capital, demonstrating hope, inviting all to participate, promoting volunteerism, and creating public awareness.
We work toward our mission by:
Providing Education and awareness activities in an effort to reduce stigma and discrimination related to addiction.
Advocating for legislation and services that support recovery from addiction.
Operating Recovery Community and Outreach Centers (RCOC’s) for those in recovery from addiction and their families.
What is a Recovery Coach?
Also known as a peer support specialist – according to OASAS (The Office of Addiction Services and Supports), Recovery Coaching is a form of strength-based supports for persons in or seeking recovery from alcohol and other drugs, as well as other addictions.
Self-directed by the recoveree, a Recovery Coach provides expertise in supporting successful change.
Recovery Coaching is goal oriented; a recovery coach will focus on any goals that are important to the individual

Throughout the year at the Recovery Community Outreach Center located in Oneonta, NY we participate and host a variety of recovery-friendly social events and activities. Stay up-to-date on future and current events with our monthly calendar.
Friends of Recovery of Delaware and Otsego Counties, Inc. Awarded $500,000 through Appalachian Regional Commission’s INSPIRE Initiative
Rural Recovery Development Opportunities and Career Services (RR-DOCS) will support recovery-to-work and recovery ecosystem efforts in Chenango, Delaware, and Otsego Counties of New York by preparing the recovery workforce, expand employment opportunities for the recovery workforce, and offering ongoing Recovery Support Services.
FOR-DO offers year round programming, classes, and workshops to assist individuals with their recovery. Through learning basic life skills such as budgeting, self care, cooking and much more we assist with all aspects of personal recovery.
Staff is available to assist any individuals who may be looking for treatment pertaining to their SUD (Substance Use Disorder). From Detox and Inpatient Rehabilitation to Halfway houses and Recovery Support Services after treatment, we can help you to find available treatment and services to meet your needs on an individual basis.
FOR-DO offers Peer and Addiction/Recovery related trainings throughout the year. These trainings are facilitated by a New York Certification Board Trainer Registry member and a Friends of Recovery of New York Best Practice Trainer on staff at FOR-DO. Some scholarships and free trainings may be available throughout the year. All upcoming trainings can be viewed on the monthly calendar or through social media posts.

Recovery related transportation services are available for members based on staff availability. Assistance with getting to Detox, Inpatient Rehabilitation, medical appointments, and recovery friendly events is provided at no cost.
Access to high-speed internet and printing is available on our computers for members to use while at the center for no cost.
We have a fully functioning kitchen available for members to use for meal prep, or to participate in one of our many cooking events and workshops.
