What is Access to Recovery?
Access to Recovery (ATR) is a federally funded program designed to help those recovering from substance use disorders. It gives individuals a choice in recovery avenues by providing payment vouchers for a variety of treatment and recovery support services.
Who will ATR serve?
Each year, for four years, ATR serves a minimum 150 individuals in recovery from addiction living in Delaware and Otsego Counties.
Who is eligible for ATR services?
Individuals 18 years of age or older who have a self-identified alcohol or other drug use disorder.
Key principles of ATR
• ATR is person-centered and strength-based.
• It supports participants in developing self-efficacy.
• It is based on the participant’s preferences.
• It must support genuine choice in the selection of recovery support services.
What services does ATR provide?
Treatment Services
• Medical detoxification.
• Inpatient substance abuse treatment.
• Outpatient treatment (including intensive outpatient treatment).
• Medication management.
• Individual counseling.
• Group counseling.
Recovery Support Services
Any activity or service that helps participants establish or maintain their recovery status.
• Recovery Coaching/Mentoring
• Health/Wellness
• Vocational/Educational
• Family/pastoral
• Housing/Transportation
